Stalking the Mail person

I am impatiently waiting for my new i Touch from eBay. It should be here today. If the post office delivery person drives off without delivering it because they do not want to actually drive up to the house... -I might be uptight.

Waiting for a gift to be delivered has never been my strong suit.

Virtue

Over three months ago after submitting this post, I received this comment/email. (Anonymously of course.. )

"I don't believe Jesus ever judged anyone. Yet, you claim
that is all he does. And you have picked up that torch for him.

Could it be that God sees the killing of millions of dark
skinned people in the Middle East as a worse crime than the killing white babies?

Lighten up and realize Obama and Democrats are normal people and not something to be feared. They may be different but, they are Americans interested in helping your states horrible economy, your states poor, your states retired that have watched 40% of their money disappear in the last 2 months and help a poor family like you to have a voice in this word.

Even if they disagree with your voice and tone, I will tell you one thing, the Republicans have had a lot of power in the last eight years and did not over turn Roe vs Wade. Nor did they attempt any legislation to do
so. Could it be that they don't want it over turned so 10% of the population always will turn out to vote for their pro-life agenda? -Could it be you are played like a
fiddle when it comes to being told what to think rather than
doing the thinking yourself?

Neither God nor Jesus hates someone that is gay and nor should you. Also Jesus would have treated them the same
as anyone else and so should we (that includes you). Grow up, lighten up, and start thinking for yourself."

Even though I typically dispose of anything unsigned, the maligned perspective demanded that I reply in a factual and non-personally offensive fashion. -The 'non-offensive, non-aggressive fashion' was the part that I was struggling with, since it is of course, in my human nature to reply with a swift, slicing rebuttal. (Especially since the commenter insinuated that I was a mindless, poor, republican, racist, lemming..)

Reminding the general public of the HiltonLife Commenting Policy; My dear commenter, (and I have a strong idea of whom you are), I thoughtfully, and prayerfully, have considered for months how to provide you with a scriptural reply. Now, I give you this biblically based perspective of virtue.

There is a twisted perspective that has edged into Christian thinking. It goes something like this: "Since God (Jesus) is LOVE, He is not discriminating, demanding, vindictive, or vengeful."

Essentially, they view the love of God as incompatible with the JUSTICE of God. It seems to them that He must be either one or the other. There is a vague, undefined sense that God was once vengeful, but is now passive, tolerant, and ecumenical -- the Universal Father. God is stripped of His balanced personality and defined in a non-threatening way. Heaven is well received; hell is suspect.

"Judge not," the most popular verse in the bible, is quoted as if God Himself could no longer discriminate between right and wrong.

As much as God IS love, He is also holy, just, and true. It is out of His love of righteousness that He is coming in "flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thes. 1:8).

To chose one side of Gods character as a model for our actions while rejecting the other can hardly be called virtue.

Jesus DID in fact associate with sinners. -He did so, to show them their sin and bring them into the light of justice, and THEN God's Grace. ..Not to partake in their sin.

Hate the sin. Not the sinner. If someone is shown the light and yet turns to the dark, whom is to save them then? -This is why so many refuse to reason or even seek God's truth.. It is too convicting. Deep down inside everyones soul, we know what is right from wrong. If we feel the need to justify our behaviors and decisions by rationalizing financial gain, popular opinion, or material quality of life; We must ask ourselves.. Who, or what, really is our God?

For future reference, any comments that are not clearly identified with an email available to blogger for follow up, and a name on the comment, will immediately be deleted without review or consideration.

Justice, Grace, and Peace unto us all.

HiltonLife Survivorman

..The following, are the secrets of survival 'off camera'. -Cheating? Perhaps.. But, just like TV, a full stomach, good communications, and a great camera angle for the general public viewing audience, equals a pair of happy feet; and a happy survivorman. ; )

Surviving in Northern Michigan (Comfortably)

Hey all. (Especially T.) The kids and I are seriously enjoying our time in Traverse City with my parents. Grace isn't able to run around like she likes, mostly because of the vast amount of snow. Snowshoeing is the preferred method of travel. -Uploading pictures seems to be modestly cumbersome, but it is available, so we're getting some cool pics posted up for all the 'snowbirds' out there.. (Take note: that the snow is greater than the height of the propane heating tank, and is beginning to overcome the height of the picture windows on the house... (I apologise to you, Noah, for having had to stay inside). : (

We're having great fun getting around. Tomorrow, before some necessity errands we're going to snowshoe to the back forty and do some shooting. Grace likes shooting only second-best to seeing Whitetail deer.
-Thats my girl!

Peace out yo!
